About
When I was five years old, I received my first record, and my first record player shortly after. Music quickly became a constant companion, and I found myself “borrowing” my parents’ records and wearing out that plastic turntable.
The plastic turntable is long gone, but four and a-half decades and thousands of albums, cassettes, CD’s and digital downloads later, the only thing that’s different is the records are now in the “cloud” and I listen through a Bluetooth speaker (although my vinyl collection is growing again).
The best, worst and most memorable moments in life often have a soundtrack. Here’s a few of mine framed by 50 of my favorite songs. Are any of your favorites here? I hope so! Got something to say? Leave it in the comments! Or even better, say hello at 50revmixtape@gmail.com, and follow me on Instagram or Spotify.
I’m a recruiter by day, but when not working my wife and I are hiking, snowshoeing or cycling in New England, getting clobbered by our boys at board games or otherwise spending time with family and friends. And there’s usually music playing in the background somewhere.
Cheers,
John
